Starting “Riverbend”

We rolled out of bed & walked the 100 yards to the site to meet with the site superintendent for the construction company. Then we loaded up the van with the crates of glass and tools and drove between the two buildings.

The lift was scheduled for 8:30, and came about a half hour after that. In any case, we determined we needed to order five sheets of plywood to put down on the floor for protection, and that arrived late morning.

In the interim, we could get started with unpacking glass, getting tools organized, and strategize about how to proceed with installation.

We started putting up lights on my track, but the weight of the lights cause a subtle shifting in the orientation of the track. That was sufficient to cause a disconnect to the power supply at the end.

Fortunately, the electrician was still on site, and was able to rework the connection at the end so that it was not a problem to disconnect.

So, by the time we broke for lunch at 2:30, we had one piece of glass up, and all the lights.

Back at it:

Breaking for dinner at 8:00, we made this much progress:

Very authentic Mexican place for this far north.

Older ladies running the place barely spoke Minnesotan.

We went back at it until about 1:30am. 1st thing, we put an extension ladder on top of the vestibule so we could install 6 morning doves near the windows last over the entrance.

Then we did another row of dichroic coated in the 2nd bay (of 4 altogether).

Now sleep.
