Onward to Iowa

We had a decent night’s sleep (and a nice lunch with our artist liaison in Faribault), so we are off to Grinnell, Iowa.

Arrived at our place:

We have just a single room at the back with some mattresses to lay on the ground, but that works for us just fine, and the setting is really lovely.

Here is a little history about the house: https://kaiser355.wordpress.com/2013/10/11/ricker-house-neighborhood-fellows-house/

And, there is a library on the property as well! See:

We met our liaison, Ryan (with bells) at the house to let us in and get us oriented. (BTW, he also is doing our laundry 👍.) Then straight over to the Drake Community Library. Marilyn the librarian met us and will hang with us at all hours throughout the install.

Tracks for the lights have already been installed. The library is providing us with a nice little quiet battery powered one person lift.

We made a test hole into the concrete ceiling structure and are encouraged by the ability of the cordless hammer-drill to make the holes and the dust collection system to function (we may upgrade to duct tape…)

Now off for Mexican food and back before breakfast.
